KP Governor Reviews PTDC Tourism Projects, Emphasizes Federal-Provincial Coordination

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s tourism potential took center stage at Governor House. Governor Faisal Karim Kundi met with Aftab Rehman, Managing Director of the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC). The meeting reviewed ongoing tourism projects and initiatives across the country. Governor Kundi received a detailed briefing on PTDC’s objectives. Nationwide promotional campaigns were discussed in depth. Key programs included the launch of tourism and hospitality services under the “Salam Pakistan” brand.
Tourism symposiums and investment expos are part of the strategy. The ASEAN Pakistan Tourism Business Forum aims to attract regional partners. A Buddhist Tourism Conference will highlight Pakistan’s religious tourism potential. The National Tourism Awards 2025 will recognize excellence in the sector.

Training and Development Initiatives

The briefing highlighted several capacity-building programs. The National Tour Guides Program covers Chitral, Kalash, and Naran. Youth training initiatives focus on hotel management and other tourism sectors. Promotional winter sports events aim to attract seasonal tourists. These events showcase the province’s year-round appeal. PTDC’s 19 motels have also been handed over to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
