MAPPA Animating Honkai: Star Rail Anime Project for 3rd Anniversary
HoYoverse and animation studio MAPPA announce an original anime project for Honkai: Star Rail during the Version 4.2 Special Program. Honkai Star Rail MAPPA anime premiered its concept trailer “Death in the Afternoon” at the end of the broadcast. The project marks a major collaboration between the game developer and the acclaimed anime studio. The announcement came as part of the game’s 3rd anniversary celebrations. Honkai: Star Rail has seen over 150 million downloads since its launch back in 2023. The game’s third anniversary includes both online and in-person celebrations across Tokyo, Seoul, and Los Angeles. Grand prizes include a Silver Wolf-themed car for contest winners. A Round1 collaboration will also make its way to fans in May.
Version 4.2 New Characters
The update introduces two brand-new 5-star characters: Silver Wolf LV.999 and Evanescia. Silver Wolf transforms into a “Godmode Player” after hitting level 999 with a brand-new look. She becomes the first Emanator of Elation from the Phantasmoon Games to step into the spotlight. Evanescia serves as a Special Observer who has witnessed countless contestants scheme against each other.
Silver Wolf LV.999 racks up “Hidden MMR” to activate her exclusive Cartridge and enter “Godmode Player” state. She pulls teammates and enemies into her gaming domain with a “Reward stage” at turn start. “Aha Instant” blasts all enemies with a game-crashing laser cannon dealing massive DMG. Evanescia accumulates “Certified Banger” through various means to increase her damage output.
Anniversary Rewards and Events
The anniversary-exclusive event “Festive Gifts” returns with 20 total pulls for logging in. On April 26, Trailblazers receive a special gift of 1,600 Stellar Jades. Huohuo and Robin join the “Stellar Convergence” Store as limited 5-star characters. A free Golden Companion Spirit lets players exchange for their companion of choice.
The Cosmicon Collective receives its Version 2.0 update “Cosmicon, Roll On Again!” with new decks and dice. “Express Renovation Escapade” and “Relic Recon” events roll out to help players enjoy the anniversary fun. The Silver Wolf LV.999-themed car serves as a grand prize for the “Aha’s Chosen” online event. The MAPPA anime project represents a major expansion of the Honkai: Star Rail universe.
