Maryam Nawaz Introduces One Punjab One Standard for Unified Development

Maryam Nawaz has introduced the One Punjab One Standard policy to ensure uniform growth across the province. She announced the decision during a high-level meeting with senior officials. The plan focuses on better planning, stronger discipline, and a shared urban identity.
Officials presented detailed proposals for infrastructure and design reforms. After reviewing the briefing, she approved province-wide standards. As a result, every district will follow the same development guidelines.

Uniform Infrastructure and Public Spaces

Under this policy, authorities will redesign roads, green belts, signboards, and footpaths using one standard code. This change will improve safety and reduce visual clutter. It will also create harmony between cities and rural areas.
In addition, the government will standardise architectural designs for schools, hospitals, and bus stops. Public buildings will reflect a consistent look and feel. Therefore, residents will notice clear improvements in structure and layout. Officials also reviewed proposals for roadside kiosks and small shop cabins along highways. These spaces will follow approved design models. Consequently, highways will appear more organised and welcoming for travelers.

Building a Shared Provincial Identity

Maryam Nawaz said discipline represents the true beauty of development. She believes consistent infrastructure strengthens civic pride and public trust. For example, uniform road furniture makes navigation easier and streets more attractive.
Moreover, the government plans to establish an autonomous authority. This body will monitor compliance and guide departments. It will also ensure that each project follows approved standards.
She directed relevant departments to prepare a detailed design manual. This document will outline rules for every city and town. From Lahore to Rajanpur, communities will reflect one cohesive identity. Through One Punjab One Standard, the government aims to modernise infrastructure and promote equal progress. Ultimately, Punjab will move forward with clarity, order, and confidence.
