Metroidvania Fallen Tear: The Ascension Hits Early Access March 17

Publisher CMD Studios and developer Winter Crew announce the Early Access launch date for their hand-drawn Metroidvania. Fallen Tear The Ascension Early Access begins March 17 on Steam for $19.99. The game features 15 to 20 hours of content across 10 interconnected regions. Players control Hira, a mysterious child tasked with facing ancient gods. You can befriend allies to establish Fated Bonds throughout your journey. These bonds grant you new abilities for both combat and traversal. Six main bosses and three optional bosses await your challenge. The story’s opening act unfolds across lush forests and expansive caves.

Explore a Hand-Drawn World with JRPG Elements

The game presents meticulously hand-drawn 2D animation throughout the experience. Full voice acting brings the characters and world to life. Beloved JRPG elements weave seamlessly into the Metroidvania formula. You can discover new party members strewn across the land of Raoah.
Fated Rush attacks let you call upon their combined power during battles. The map transforms in response to Hira’s actions and choices. Hidden pathways and secrets reward thorough exploration everywhere. Consequently, mastering deep mechanics becomes essential for progress.

Community-Driven Development Ahead

The developers plan to work closely with their community during Early Access. Player feedback will shape updates over the coming months. This approach builds on support from Kickstarter backers and loyal fans. The team aims to forge a high-quality, distinct Metroidvania experience together.
Console versions will follow alongside the full release later. The game targets PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and other platforms. Spring 2026 marks the beginning of this ambitious journey. Fans of the genre should wishlist the game on Steam now.
