Morocco Hosts US Tourism Leaders to Boost Confidence as Key Destination
Morocco is hosting a major gathering of US tourism leaders this month. The United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA) chose the country for its 2026 Out of Country Meeting. This marks the first time Morocco has hosted this prestigious event. It runs from March 19 to 29 in partnership with the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT).
The delegation includes around 50 participants. USTOA board members, tour operator executives, and product development specialists are all present. They are exploring key destinations across the country. Their itinerary covers Casablanca, Rabat, Fez, Tangier, Chefchaouen, and Marrakech.
Strengthening US-Morocco Tourism Ties
The USTOA is a key player in shaping North American travel trends. It represents some of the most influential companies in the sector. The ONMT views this meeting as a strategic opportunity.
On March 25, Rabat hosted the USTOA board meeting. This provided a direct platform for interaction between American and Moroccan professionals. Discussions focused on the ONMT strategy for the American market. Short and medium-term business opportunities were also on the agenda.
The tourism office calls this a “strategic event that reinforces confidence.” It highlights Morocco’s stability and attractiveness to the North American market.
Broader Objectives and Recent Initiatives
The broader goal is to enhance Morocco’s visibility in tour operator catalogues. The ONMT aims to drive increased visitor numbers between 2026 and 2030. Strengthening partnerships with USTOA members is central to this strategy.
This initiative coincides with other international efforts. Morocco recently participated in the International Hospitality Investment Forum (IHIF) in Berlin. The Moroccan Society of Tourism Engineering led a delegation there. They promoted investment opportunities in the country’s hospitality sector.
Through hosting such events, Morocco is leveraging international platforms. The goal is to boost visibility and attract foreign investment. National efforts are also preparing for global upcoming events. The 2030
FIFA World Cup is a key focus.
By welcoming US tourism leaders, Morocco is positioning itself as a premium destination. The confidence of the North American market is growing. This meeting represents a significant step toward strengthening tourism ties between the two countries.
