Multiplayer Pottery Brawler Kiln Open Beta Runs April 9-11
Double Fine Productions announces an open beta for Kiln, its multiplayer online pottery brawler, running April 9-11 on Steam. Kiln open beta lets players shape clay into vessels on a pottery wheel with intuitive controls. The size and shape of each vessel determines its health, water capacity, and special ability. Different shapes like bowls, chalices, and bottles correspond to different abilities. Players decorate vessels with various glazes and cosmetic attachments for style only. Matches consist of two teams of four pots competing against each other. Teams gather water and attempt to quench the other team’s kiln three times. Breaking enemy pots along the way creates chaotic brawls during matches.
Open Beta Details and Registration
The open beta runs from April 9 at 10 AM PT until April 11 at 11:59 PM PT. Players can head to the Kiln Steam page to register for the playtest. The registration process also allows players to sign up up to three friends at the same time. The full game releases April 23 on multiple platforms.
Kiln launches on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Xbox Cloud, PlayStation 5, and Steam. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers get access on day one as well. The game supports Xbox Play Anywhere and arrives handheld optimized. Double Fine’s quirky title offers a unique take on competitive multiplayer.
Gameplay Overview
The full release promises chaotic brawls between teams of ceramic warriors. Players must balance creating effective vessels with battling opposing teams. Strategic choices about vessel shape affect both combat and utility capabilities. Glazes and cosmetic attachments allow for personal expression without affecting gameplay.
Double Fine brings its signature creativity to this unusual multiplayer concept. The open beta gives players a chance to try before buying the full game. Registering early ensures you secure your spot in the playtest. Pottery brawling awaits those who dare to enter the kiln.
