Nasa Shares First High-Res Earth Images from Artemis
Nasa has shared new high-resolution images of Earth. The Artemis II crew took them during their trip around the Moon. Commander Reid Wiseman captured these “spectacular” photos.
A Stunning View from Space
The crew completed a final engine burn first. That burn set them on a trajectory toward the Moon. As a result, they now head to our closest celestial neighbour.
Meet “Hello, World
The first image has a fitting name: “Hello, World.” It shows the vast blue expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. A thin glow of the atmosphere frames the shot. In addition, the Earth eclipses the Sun in this view. Green auroras also appear at both poles. The Earth looks upside down in the picture. For example, the western Sahara and Iberian peninsula are visible on the left. The eastern portion of South America sits on the right. Therefore, the perspective is truly unique.Nasa also identified another bright object. The planet Venus appears at the bottom right. This adds even more beauty to the scene. The crew continues its journey safely. More stunning images may follow soon.
