NCCIA Corruption Case Exposes Serious Misconduct in Gujranwala
A major NCCIA corruption case has surfaced in Gujranwala, raising serious concerns about accountability. The FIA Composite Circle has registered a case against its own officers. As a result, authorities have taken several suspects into custody.
The case involves officers from the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency. Officials accuse them of corruption, bribery, and misuse of power. Therefore, the development has shocked many who expected stronger cyber enforcement.
Allegations Against Cyber Crime Officers
Investigations revealed that NCCIA officers allegedly worked with private individuals. Together, they struck illegal deals with suspects in online fraud cases. In return, they accepted millions of rupees and released the accused.
Following intelligence reports and a citizen complaint, the FIA acted swiftly. It registered a formal FIR to begin legal proceedings. According to the FIR, complainant Muzammil Iqbal lives in Garden Town, Gujranwala.
He claimed that fake FIA officials raided his home on February 2, 2025. They allegedly held his family hostage and seized valuables. Moreover, they tortured male family members and confined them inside a room.
The suspects reportedly took mobile phones, a laptop, cash, ATM cards, and a car. Later, officials moved the family to the FIA Cyber Crime office. There, officers questioned them about online business and cryptocurrency.
Arrests and Ongoing Investigation
The FIR states that officers forced the victims to pay cash and cryptocurrency. They also demanded bank transfers to avoid legal action. Although officials returned some items, they kept cash and one mobile phone.
Another victim, Salman Raza, shared similar allegations. He said the suspects abducted and tortured his family. They reportedly demanded Rs50 million for their release.
After negotiations, the accused settled for Rs30 million, according to the complainant. Authorities received part of the amount before releasing the family.
The FIA has named officers Mujahid Ali, Shahroz, and Allah Yar in the case. It has also booked private accomplices under multiple laws. Officials say a transparent probe continues. They promise strict action against anyone found guilty.
