OurAfrica.Travel and Africa’s Eden Partner to Boost Community and Conservation Causes

A powerful new partnership is strengthening African tourism’s giving back ethos. OurAfrica.Travel, Africa’s only digital trade show, has announced a collaboration with Africa’s Eden. The alliance formalizes their shared commitment to community and conservation causes.
OurAfrica.Travel launched during the 2020 lockdown. From the beginning, it embodied the spirit of Ubuntu—supporting the greater good of the whole African tourism community. The show has always prioritized affordability and inclusivity.
Now heading into its seventh edition in March 2026, the partnership with Africa’s Eden marks a significant evolution. The two like-minded organizations will formally align their efforts to maximize impact.

How the “Nominate a Cause” Program Works

Each year, exhibitors nominate community or conservation causes. The program has always offered twofold benefits. Causes gain global exposure for their work. They also get a chance to win cash donations.
For 2026, the process becomes more rigorous and transparent. All nominations will now be vetted by sustainability experts. Africa’s Eden’s established Community and Conservation network handles the shortlisting.
The focus shifts to documented, measurable impact on the ground. This replaces simple popularity contests based on votes. Greater transparency ensures donations reach truly deserving organizations.

Qualification Criteria

Causes must meet strict requirements to qualify. They must be locally led initiatives. Legal registration as non-profit organizations is mandatory.
Applicants must provide a copy of their annual report. This ensures financial transparency and accountability. They must also demonstrate two non-cash ways tourism businesses can support them. Examples include conservation training or building schools.
Qualifying charities should apply directly via the website. Melissa Foley, Africa’s Eden’s Impact Lead for Conservation and Community, handles queries at impact@africaseden.travel.

Donations and Impact

One nominated charity in each category will receive R20,000 (approximately USD 1200). This direct financial support helps sustain vital work across the continent.
To date, OurAfrica.Travel has donated a total of R100,000 to various causes. Beneficiaries include ForRangers, protecting wildlife rangers. Mukambi Community School in Zambia received support.
How Many Elephants’ World Female Ranger Week benefited. Foxes’ Community and Wildlife Conservation Trust, Parco, and the Chigamane School in Mozambique have all received donations.

About the Partners

OurAfrica.Travel connects the African and Indian Ocean travel community with global buyers. The virtual trade show makes meaningful connections accessible and sustainable. Destinations, hotels, lodges, DMCs, and tourism professionals meet, network, and grow their businesses.
Created by industry experts passionate about responsible tourism, the platform offers cost-effective, time-efficient, and environmentally friendly showcasing. It has become a much-anticipated annual B2B event celebrating collaboration, community, and diversity.
The seventh edition runs from March 16 to 20, 2026. Registrations are now open.
Africa’s Eden Tourism promotes tourism across Southern and Central Africa. It represents Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Angola, Malawi, Mozambique, and Madagascar. The organization prioritizes sustainable practices, community engagement, and cooperative growth.
As a not-for-profit entity, it offers tourism businesses opportunities for partnership, visibility, and influence. Its mission is to showcase breathtaking natural landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and distinctive experiences.

A Guiding Philosophy

The partnership embodies a timeless African proverb. “If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together.” This wisdom guides both organizations.
By joining forces, OurAfrica.Travel and Africa’s Eden demonstrate that collaboration creates greater impact. They ensure that tourism benefits the communities and environments that make Africa extraordinary.
