Pakistan Arrests Four Militants Linked to Islamabad Court Blast

The government announced a major breakthrough in the Islamabad court blast case on Friday. Officials confirmed the arrest of four militants involved in Tuesday’s deadly suicide bombing outside a district court. The attack killed 12 people and wounded 28 others. However, investigators say they now have strong leads.
Authorities stated that the suspects belong to the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan. This group remains separate from the Afghanistan Taliban but maintains close ties. In addition, officials identified one suspect, Sajid Ullah, as the handler of the bomb used in the attack.

Officials Reveal Details of the Operation

The Intelligence Bureau and the Counter-Terrorism Department conducted a joint operation to arrest the men. They tracked the suspects using multiple surveillance methods. As a result, teams detained them from different locations.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi spoke about the arrests a day earlier. He said Afghan nationals carried out recent suicide bombings in Islamabad and northwest Pakistan. His statement added new pressure to the ongoing investigation.

Investigators Trace the Plan Behind the Attack

Ullah told officials that TTP commander Saeed-ur-Rehman ordered the attack. He shared instructions through the Telegram messaging app. In addition, he sent Ullah photographs of the suicide bomber and details of his arrival.
The bomber, an Afghan citizen, crossed the border from Nangarhar province into Pakistan. Ullah then received him and helped complete the mission. Government officials said the arrests now strengthen the case and support further action against the network.
Authorities stated that they will release more updates as the investigation continues.
They also assured the public that security agencies remain alert. However, they urged people
to stay cautious and cooperate with law enforcement.
