Pakistan IT Contract Win Itanz Lands $1.23M Australian Utility Deal

Pakistan’s tech sector marked another milestone with a Pakistan IT Contract Win. Local firm Itanz Technologies secured a major deal in Australia. The contract is worth AU$1.75 million, or about $1.23 million.
The company shared this update through a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange. The announcement confirmed a five-year agreement with an Australian utility provider. As a result, the deal strengthens Pakistan’s presence in global IT services.

Deal With Australia’s Icon Water

Itanz Technologies signed the contract with Icon Water Limited, the largest water utility in the Australian Capital Territory. The company will deploy integration architecture for the utility’s systems. This project will run for five years. During this period, Itanz will help improve digital integration across the utility’s operations. Therefore, the partnership highlights growing international demand for Pakistani tech expertise. Icon Water manages drinking water and wastewater services across the territory. In addition, the utility supports infrastructure that millions rely on daily.
Icon Water Limited operates as a public utility owned by the government of the Australian Capital Territory. The organization supplies safe drinking water and handles wastewater treatment. The company also holds a 50 percent stake in ActewAGL. This multi utility provider supplies electricity and gas in the ACT and parts of New South Wales. Because of this partnership, Icon Water plays a key role in the region’s energy and water infrastructure.

Itanz Technologies’ Transformation

Itanz Technologies Limited started operations in Pakistan in 1990. The company originally operated as Zahur Cotton Mills Limited. However, the business changed direction over time. In Lahore High Court, authorities approved a merger between the company and ITANZ Technology Private Limited in March 2025. The merger took effect from October 1, 2023. As a result, the company shifted its focus fully toward technology services.
Today, Itanz specializes in software development and IT consultancy. The company also handles installation, implementation, and digital integration projects.
