Pakistan Launches Free First CNIC for Citizens Aged 18 and Above

Pakistan offers free first CNIC to citizens aged 18+. NADRA updates renewal fees and makes registration faster and simpler.
Turning 18 in Pakistan now brings exciting news. The government has started a new facility that offers citizens their free first CNIC Pakistan. Every person aged 18 or older can now apply for their first ID card without paying any fee. This step supports young adults and unregistered citizens across the country. It also helps those in rural and low-income areas who face financial challenges.
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has made the process simple and quick. You can visit any NADRA centre, fill out the application form, and get your first CNIC within 15 days. The government aims to make identity registration easier for everyone and to strengthen the national database.

Updated NADRA Fees for CNIC Renewals

NADRA has updated the renewal fees for CNIC and Smart NIC cards. People can now choose how quickly they want their card.
CNIC Renewal Fees:
Normal: Rs 400 (15 days)
Urgent: Rs 1,150 (12 days)
Executive: Rs 2,150 (6 days)
Smart NIC Renewal Fees:
Normal: Rs 750 (31 days)
Urgent: Rs 1,500 (15 days)
Executive: Rs 2,500 (9 days)
These flexible options make the process faster and more convenient.

Why the Free CNIC Initiative Matters

This initiative gives citizens the right to vote and access services like banking, passports, and SIM cards. It also connects them to welfare programs such as Ehsaas. Therefore, the free first CNIC Pakistan policy promotes equality, inclusion, and empowerment nationwide.
