Pakistan Myanmar Qualifier Loss Extends Winless Run in AFC Campaign

The Pakistan Myanmar qualifier loss adds another tough chapter to Pakistan’s AFC Asian Cup journey. The team fought hard but lost 2-1 in a close contest. Pakistan started with confidence and energy. They held Myanmar to a goalless first half. As a result, hopes stayed high at the break. However, the second half quickly changed the game. Goalkeeper Saqib Hanif scored an unfortunate own goal early on. This moment gave Myanmar a sudden lead.

Turning Point and Late Push

Soon after, Myanmar increased pressure on the field. In the 59th minute, Than Piang scored a clean goal. Therefore, Pakistan faced a difficult two-goal gap. Despite the setback, Pakistan kept pushing forward. The players showed determination and teamwork. In addition, they created chances late in the match. Shayak Dost finally scored in stoppage time. His goal came in the 90+1 minute. However, it arrived too late to change the result.
Myanmar held their lead until the final whistle. As a result, they secured all three points. Than Piang earned Man of the Match for his strong performance. With this win, Myanmar now sit second in Group E with nine points. Meanwhile, Pakistan remain at the bottom with two points. They have drawn twice and lost three matches so far.
