Pakistan Regains Nushki as Balochistan Rebel Clashes Intensify
Pakistan has stepped up action during Balochistan Rebel Clashes in the western province. Security forces used helicopters and drones to regain control of Nushki town. The fighting has killed dozens of officials and civilians in recent days.
Pakistan Secures Nushki After Battle
Police confirmed they secured the desert town of Nushki after three days of heavy fighting. Seven officers lost their lives during the operation. Therefore, authorities quickly sent more troops into the area. A security official said forces used helicopters and drones against militants. In addition, officials increased patrols to prevent further rebel movement. Residents in nearby areas reported hearing constant explosions and gunfire.
The Balochistan Liberation Army launched attacks across the province on Saturday. Fighters stormed banks, schools, markets, and security posts. As a result, panic spread across towns and cities in the region.
Rising Death Toll and Security Restrictions
People in Quetta also felt the impact of the violence. A local housewife, Robina Ali, described terrifying blasts near a government building. She said she feared her home would collapse. A senior official told AFP that security forces killed 197 militants during ongoing counterterrorism operations. However, the violence continues to shake the province. Authorities have imposed strict security restrictions across Balochistan. They banned public gatherings and demonstrations to reduce risks. Meanwhile, funerals for some victims are scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
The BLA claimed it killed 280 soldiers during what it called Operation Herof. Its leader, Bashir Zeb, said the campaign followed earlier coordinated attacks in August 2024. Those assaults left at least 74 people dead.
Now, Balochistan Rebel Clashes remain a serious challenge for Pakistan’s security. Many residents hope stability returns soon. The government says it will continue operations until peace is restored.
