Pakistan Reviews Progress on Health Cooperation with Indonesia Following Presidential Visit
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister chaired a key inter-ministerial meeting in Islamabad. Senator Ishaq Dar led the session on Friday. It followed the official visit of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in December 2025.
The meeting had a clear two-part agenda. First, officials reviewed the current progress in health sector cooperation. Second, they discussed new opportunities to enhance collaboration between the two nations.
Deputy PM Dar emphasized the strategic importance of the relationship. He stressed the need to further deepen and broaden relations with Indonesia. A formal press statement from the Foreign Office Spokesperson confirmed this direction.
High-Level Attendance for Collaborative Planning
The meeting included senior officials from key ministries and councils. This ensured a comprehensive review from all relevant stakeholders.
Minister for Health and SAPM Tariq Bajwa were present. Senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the NHSR&C Ministry also attended. Furthermore, representatives from the PMDC, OEC, and OP&HRD Ministry participated in the discussions.
Building on a Foundation of Bilateral Engagement
This high-level review builds directly on the momentum from the presidential visit. It signals a concerted effort to translate diplomatic engagement into tangible sectoral cooperation.
