The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has introduced a game-changing program for young cricketers, providing comprehensive support for both their educational and cricketing pursuits. This initiative aims to nurture talented players from Under-15 to Under-19 levels, allowing them to focus on cricket without compromising their academic development.
The PCB has designated four academies in different cities, each catering to specific age groups. The Sialkot Academy will focus on Under-15 players, while Faisalabad and Multan will concentrate on Under-17 and Under-19 players, respectively. The Karachi Academy will be dedicated to Pakistan’s women’s cricket team, the Shaheens, and the A team.
Players will be selected based on their performances in regional cricket tournaments, ensuring a merit-based entry system. The PCB will cover educational expenses, including school and college admissions, annual tuition fees, and other related costs. This initiative showcases the PCB’s commitment to providing a holistic development path for young cricketers, producing well-rounded individuals who can excel both on and off the field
