Niantic has announced the return of Pokémon GO’s Psychic Spectacular event, running from September 16 to 21, 2025, featuring the debut of Indeedee. The Psychic/Normal-type Pokémon from Generation 8, known for its gender-based design differences, will be available in 5 km eggs with a chance of hatching shiny.
The event, officially titled Psychic Spectacular: Taken Over, will increase wild encounters for Pokémon such as Abra, Lunatone, Solrock, and Beldum, while raids will feature Alolan Raichu, Hisuian Braviary, and Wyrdeer. Trainers can also hatch Smoochum, Chingling, and Espurr alongside Indeedee.
In addition, Team GO Rocket will appear more often, with players gaining opportunities to rescue Shadow Pokémon like Qwilfish, Swablu, Baltoy, and Deino. A new Special Research questline running until December 2 will reward players with a Super Rocket Radar to battle Giovanni and save Shadow Tornadus in its Incarnate Forme.
Event bonuses include extra Candy for Nice Throws or better, half hatch distance for eggs, and an increased chance of earning Candy XL for high-level trainers. Paid Timed Research and premium bundles, priced at $4.99, will provide extra encounters and items, including Rocket Radars and Premium Battle Passes.
With a mix of new Pokémon, raid challenges, and Rocket battles, the Psychic Spectacular 2025 is shaping up to be one of Season 20’s most content-packed events.
