Pokémon Legends Z-A Gives Away Rare Diancie After 9-Year Absence

Pokémon Legends Z-A is distributing the mythical Pokémon Diancie through a special Mystery Gift event. This marks the first time players can legitimately obtain Diancie in nine years. The Rock/Fairy-type Pokémon comes with its Mega Stone, Diancite. The gift is available to all players who have completed the game’s main story. For many trainers, this ends a long wait to add this rare creature to their collection.

How to Claim Your Diancie

Claiming Diancie is simple. Connect your game to the internet and select Mystery Gift from the main menu. After receiving the gift, visit the Looker Bureau and speak with Mimi. This starts a new side quest called “Shine Bright like a Gemstone.” Complete the quest to add Diancie to your team permanently.
The event also helps Pokémon Go players. Those who caught Diancie in Pokémon Go can now transfer it to Scarlet and Violet. Previously, this wasn’t possible without first registering Diancie in a main series game. Now that barrier has been removed.

A Strategic Asset for Upcoming DLC

The Diancie distribution comes just before the Mega Dimension DLC launches on December 10. The expansion will introduce Pokémon exceeding level 150, creating new challenges for trainers. Having a powerful mythical Pokémon like Mega Diancie will provide a significant advantage in these high-level battles.
For collectors and competitive players alike, this is an unmissable opportunity. The last major Diancie distribution occurred in 2016, making this particularly special for long-time fans. Trainers should complete the main story soon to claim their Diancie before the DLC arrives.
