On August 31, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet launched the final Shiny Treasure of Ruin event, giving players the chance to battle the Legendary Chi-Yu in Tera Raids. The event runs until September 14 and coincides with Mass Outbreaks featuring Pokémon such as Vulpix, Numel, and Charcadet.
Chi-Yu, known as the Ruinous Pokémon, is part of the Treasures of Ruin Legendary quartet from the Paldea region. Since the July 22 Pokémon Presents showcase, Scarlet and Violet have hosted a series of Shiny Treasures of Ruin Tera Raid events, spotlighting Shiny variants like Ting-Lu. However, these powerful Pokémon cannot be caught directly from raids. Instead, once Shiny Treasures of Ruin are collectively defeated one million times, they are distributed to players as Mystery Gifts via Internet download, available until September 30.
According to Serebii.net, Shiny Chi-Yu enters battle with a move set including Ruination, Heat Wave, Flamethrower, Snarl, and Dark Pulse. The Legendary will also deploy a raid shield early and reset Tera Orb charges mid-battle. While Chi-Yu boasts high special attack and defense, its Fire- and Dark-type offense leaves it vulnerable to strong Water-types such as Azumarill, Kyogre, and Walking Wake. The event version is set at level 75, requiring well-prepared teams for success.
Alongside the raid, trainers can encounter increased waves of Fire-type Pokémon across Paldea, Kitakami, and the Terarium. The Mass Outbreaks also feature boosted Shiny odds, and players using Shiny Sandwiches can further improve their chances of finding rare variants in the wild. Both events conclude at 8:00 PM Eastern on Sunday, September 14.
