Port Qasim LPG Arrivals Boost Pakistan Fuel Supply, Prices May Fall Soon

Port Qasim LPG Arrivals Boost Pakistan Fuel Supply, Prices May Fall Soon

Recent Port Qasim LPG arrivals have strengthened Pakistan’s fuel reserves and improved the supply outlook. Several cargo ships reached the port within the past few days. As a result, officials expect better availability across the country.
Authorities say the new shipments will support the national fuel supply chain. The steady flow of imports also reduces pressure on local stocks. Therefore, experts believe the market may stabilize soon.

New Shipments Boost Fuel Supply

Energy officials confirmed that four vessels carrying LPG recently reached Port Qasim. Each ship delivered a large volume of fuel for domestic use. Consequently, the arrivals quickly increased the country’s available reserves. One vessel brought nearly 11,000 metric tonnes of LPG earlier this week. Meanwhile, two other ships had already docked and started unloading around 12,000 tonnes each. These shipments strengthened the supply system in a short time.
In addition, a larger tanker reached the port carrying about 35,000 tonnes of LPG. This cargo further increased the country’s fuel stock. As a result, supply managers feel confident about meeting demand.
Officials say regular imports play a key role in market stability. They help maintain steady distribution across different regions. Moreover, stronger reserves reduce the risk of shortages.

Market Prices Raise Concerns

Despite strong supply levels, some markets still report higher LPG prices. The LPG Distributors Association of Pakistan raised concerns about this trend. According to the group, some traders sell LPG at inflated rates. Chairman Irfan Khokhar said the country currently holds sufficient LPG stock. However, some sellers link higher prices to international crude oil fluctuations. He believes this explanation does not reflect the local supply situation.
In Karachi, the government has set the official LPG price at Rs250 per kilogram. Still, market prices often vary in different neighbourhoods. For example, transport costs and local demand can influence retail rates. Industry representatives remain optimistic about the coming weeks. New shipments continue to enter the market regularly. Therefore, many experts expect LPG prices to gradually decline.
Fresh LPG shipments have arrived at Port Qasim, strengthening Pakistan’s fuel reserves. Officials say supply remains stable, and prices may decline soon as more cargo enters the market.
