PSL 11 Lahore Security Plan Tightened for Opening Match at Gaddafi Stadium

Authorities have enforced strict PSL Lahore security across the city as Season 11 begins. The opening match will take place at Gaddafi Stadium under tight monitoring. Officials have increased vigilance to ensure safety during the event. The match will feature Lahore Qalandars against Hyderabad Kings.

High Alert Across Key Locations

Officials have finalised a joint security plan. Punjab Safe Cities Authority and Lahore Police are leading the effort. The plan covers the stadium, Allama Iqbal International Airport, team hotels, and key routes.
DIG Operations Faisal Kamran said teams have created a multi-layered security cordon. Authorities are monitoring all sensitive areas closely. In addition, they have restricted access to key locations.
More than 6,000 police personnel are on duty. The force includes senior officers, inspectors, and field staff. Moreover, 54 women officers are also part of the deployment. These steps aim to ensure safety for players, officials, and the public.

Strict Measures for Players and Matches

Authorities have introduced special arrangements for local and foreign players. They have tightened security at residences and along travel routes. As a result, officials are tracking player movements continuously.
Due to security concerns, spectators cannot attend the opening match. However, law enforcement agencies remain fully prepared for any situation. Search and sweep operations continue near the venue. Meanwhile, surveillance cameras provide constant monitoring.
Punjab Police chief Abdul Kareem said the department aims to ensure a peaceful event. He confirmed coordination with the Pakistan Cricket Board and other agencies.
Officials added that Lahore will host 22 matches this season. Therefore, strong PSL Lahore security will remain in place throughout the tournament.
