PTA Mobile Device Registration Temporarily Unavailable This Weekend

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced a short service outage. Its mobile device registration system will be offline this weekend. The pause is due to scheduled maintenance by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
The Device Identification Registration & Blocking System (DIRBS) will be unavailable from 10:00 PM on Saturday, 6th December, until Sunday evening, 7th December 2025. During this time, users cannot register new devices or check existing registrations.

Users Advised to Register Early

PTA urged anyone needing urgent registration to complete it before the maintenance starts. This ensures devices remain compliant and fully functional. In addition, the authority asked for public patience. Services will resume promptly after FBR finishes the maintenance work.
This temporary pause is part of routine upgrades that improve system efficiency. For example, previous updates have enhanced security and reduced registration errors. As a result, users can expect smoother service after the maintenance ends.

Stay Informed and Plan Ahead

PTA reminded mobile users to follow official updates. Any changes to the schedule or additional outages will be shared on PTA’s official channels. In addition, the authority warned against relying on third-party alerts, which may be inaccurate.
By completing registrations early or waiting until the system is back online, mobile subscribers can avoid delays. Overall, the maintenance ensures the DIRBS platform remains reliable and secure for all users.
