PTI to Boycott 27th Constitutional Amendment in National Assembly, Says Gohar Ali Khan
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced that it will boycott the 27th Constitutional Amendment in the National Assembly. Speaking to journalists outside Parliament House, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said the party had already decided not to take part in the process. He added that after addressing the assembly, PTI members would stage a walkout in protest.

He described Nawaz as “irrelevant to Pakistani politics” and claimed no special welcome awaited him in the house. In addition, Gohar questioned Defence Minister Khawaja Asif over his past political actions, including petitions and legal interventions involving Nawaz Sharif.
According to Gohar, PTI remains focused on political transparency and accountability. He stated that the party would not compromise its stance on constitutional integrity. As a result, PTI will continue to highlight what it calls “unjust” amendments.
PTI’s Ongoing Opposition Strategy
Meanwhile, PTI leader Asad Qaiser strongly criticised the proposed amendment. He said it had “buried the Constitution and the law.” He reaffirmed PTI’s determination to oppose the bill at every level.
In addition, Qaiser announced a Peace Jirga to build a national policy. He emphasized the need to address issues between Pakistan and Afghanistan through dialogue and diplomacy. Therefore, the PTI plans to promote peace and stability in the region instead of confrontation.
