Punjab Approves New Industrial Estate Near Sialkot Airport
The Punjab government has approved a new 400-acre industrial estate near Sialkot Airport. The project aims to boost local industry, attract investment, and create new jobs.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz chaired the meeting in Lahore where the decision was made. She said the Punjab industrial estate project will strengthen the province’s manufacturing sector. It will also support export-oriented industries and help small and medium enterprises grow.
Officials confirmed that the site will include modern infrastructure and support services. The new zone will provide facilities for logistics, manufacturing, and technology-based industries.
Foreign Investment and Expansion Plans
During the meeting, the government also approved plans to attract international investors. Punjab will offer four existing industrial estates to foreign companies. The move will encourage global participation and bring advanced technology to local production.
According to the plan, the Chunian Industrial Estate will go to the Fisheries Department. The Balwal, Vehari, and Bahawalpur estates will be presented to potential Saudi investors. These steps reflect Punjab’s goal of building sustainable growth through public-private partnerships.
Officials said the government will ensure transparency and efficiency in every stage of the project. They believe these initiatives will enhance exports, generate employment, and improve infrastructure across the province.
The Punjab industrial estate project marks a key step toward industrial modernization. With strong leadership and strategic investment, Punjab aims to become a leading hub for innovation and economic progress.
