Quetta Celebrates World Tourism Day 2025 with Cultural Flair

As the world marked World Tourism Day 2025, Quetta in Balochistan joined in with vibrant celebrations emphasizing its cultural heritage and tourism promise. Local authorities, tourism stakeholders, artists, and residents came together to spotlight the city’s rich landscapes, traditions, and tourism potential.
Events spanned exhibitions, musical performances, and cultural shows showcasing Baloch crafts, folklore, and local cuisine. These activities aimed to draw attention to the hidden gems across Balochistan—including valleys, ancient sites, and natural vistas—encouraging both domestic and international visitors to explore beyond well-worn paths.
In her remarks, a senior official said the celebrations reaffirm the province’s commitment to promoting sustainable tourism that safeguards local culture while generating economic opportunity. She stressed that tourism should not only bring revenue but also preserve Balochistan’s unique identity and empower local communities.
Key figures from the arts, culture, hotel sectors, and civil society participated, underscoring cooperation between government and grassroots actors. Participants expressed optimism that raising awareness through these annual events can gradually shift perceptions—presenting Quetta not only as a gateway to rugged landscapes, but as a cultural destination in its own right.
Also highlighted were efforts to upgrade tourism infrastructure: improving road access to remote valleys, promoting heritage sites, and encouraging investment in eco-lodges. Citizens and visitors alike were invited to explore lesser known regions—valleys, mountain passes, and traditional settlements—as part of a wider vision to diversify attractions.
Quetta’s celebration resonated with this year’s global theme for World Tourism Day, which calls on destinations to rethink growth with sustainability, inclusion, and conservation at the core. The day served as a reminder that tourism is not simply leisure, but a bridge between heritage and future opportunity.
