SCCI Calls for Strong SME Policy Support

Pakistan’s business leaders are calling for stronger SME policy support as economic pressure grows. The Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) shared its concerns in a recent meeting. Leaders stressed the need for practical solutions that can energize small and medium enterprises.
The SCCI team highlighted the role of SMEs in job creation. However, members also noted that rising costs and limited incentives are hurting growth. They urged the government to introduce friendly policies that can help businesses stay afloat.

Taxation Concerns

The business community raised detailed concerns about taxation. Many owners feel stressed by complicated procedures. In addition, higher costs have created new challenges for small firms that rely on stable cash flow.
SCCI representatives explained that fair taxation can boost confidence. They asked the government to simplify tax rules and reduce unnecessary barriers. As a result, more companies may enter the formal economy.
SAPM Haroon Akhtar Khan listened to these issues with interest. He encouraged all stakeholders to share their proposals. He also directed relevant bodies to prepare a clear roadmap for addressing business-related challenges.

Government Committees

In an important step, the government formally included the Sarhad Chamber in several committees. This move allows the business community to offer direct input. It also helps officials understand the real issues affecting local industries.
Chamber leaders welcomed the decision. They said it strengthens trust between the public and private sectors. In addition, it creates space for transparent policy making.
Business owners hope the committees will fast track solutions. They believe timely action can support exports, improve job opportunities, and revive industrial activity.

Appreciation for Support

The President of the Sarhad Chamber praised the Prime Minister for showing interest in industrial matters. He also appreciated SAPM Haroon Akhtar Khan for engaging with the business community. Their involvement, he said, can motivate investors and build confidence.
The Chamber expressed hope that ongoing discussions will bring meaningful change. Leaders want long term policies that protect businesses and encourage innovation. With consistent support, SMEs can play a stronger role in boosting economic stability.
