Pakistan’s security forces neutralised five Indian-sponsored terrorists during a successful intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Wednesday. According to the statement, the operation was launched on the night of September 14 and 15 after intelligence reports confirmed the presence of terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy group Fitna al-Hindustan. Acting swiftly, security forces surrounded the suspected hideout and engaged the militants in a fierce exchange of fire. The ISPR confirmed that five terrorists were eliminated during the encounter, effectively disrupting their plans to destabilise the region. The statement highlighted that the terrorists had been involved in multiple acts of sabotage, targeting both security personnel and civilian infrastructure, with the support of hostile foreign intelligence agencies. Their neutralisation marks another significant blow to networks attempting to spread violence and instability inside Pakistan. The military’s media wing further underscored that the operation was part of ongoing counter-terrorism efforts to ensure peace and stability across Balochistan, a province that has seen repeated attempts by hostile elements to foment unrest. “Security forces remain determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, with the support of the resilient people of Pakistan,” the ISPR said. The successful IBO reflects the heightened vigilance and preparedness of Pakistan’s armed forces in countering foreign-sponsored threats, particularly those allegedly backed by India. Officials added that follow-up operations are underway to track down any remaining facilitators or associates linked with the group. Analysts believe the operation sends a strong message to adversaries attempting to exploit local grievances and destabilise Pakistan through proxy networks. The Khuzdar encounter adds to a series of recent counter-terrorism operations across the country, showcasing the security forces’ resolve to defend national sovereignty and maintain peace in the region.
