Shrapnel is a Strategic Free Sci-Fi Shooter

A new free-to-play FPS game is set to launch in the first quarter of 2026. Shrapnel free FPS is a strategic 4v4 shooter where squads compete to collect a vital resource called Sigma. Set in a future Earth scarred by lunar debris, matches focus on risk management, coordination, and securing deposits. The game is developed by Neon Machine, a team with experience from major franchises like Halo and Call of Duty.

Gather Resources to Power Your Abilities

The core mode, Stockpile, tasks your team with gathering Sigma from meteorite craters. This resource is crucial for humanity’s future in the game’s lore. Collecting Sigma during a match also directly powers your character’s special abilities. If an enemy steals your team’s stockpile, you lose access to those powers until you recover the resource.
However, carrying too much Sigma makes you a glowing target on the enemy map. This creates a constant risk-reward dynamic. You must decide when to bank your haul for safety or push for more to gain a power advantage.

A Focus on Tactical Team Play

The game features a roster of unique operators, each with their own perks and progression. Upgrades can be applied both in real-time during a match and between games. This system allows for deep customization of your playstyle and strategy.
With its planned Q1 2026 release, Shrapnel aims to carve a niche in the competitive shooter scene. It emphasizes tactical teamwork and resource management over pure twitch reflexes.
