Steam Drops Free Open-World RPG With Ghibli Vibes

Steam Drops Free Open-World RPG With Ghibli Vibes

Netmarble releases The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, a free open-world RPG based on the popular manga series, on Steam and PS5. The Seven Deadly Sins Origin launched March 16 with a grand launch coming March 25. Players step into the role of Prince Tristan of Liones exploring an open-world Britannia. The story follows a world thrown into chaos by the collision of time and space. Your mission involves restoring order across the beautifully crafted anime-styled landscape. The game features crafting, cooking, climbing, gliding, and exploration mechanics. Collecting mounts and pets adds depth to the open-world experience. A story to follow guides players through the chaos. The visual style draws strong Studio Ghibli comparisons from early players.

Mixed Reception and Player Feedback

Reception on Steam currently sits at mixed but not overwhelmingly negative. Fans note technical issues exist alongside praise for graphics and performance. One reviewer calls it “looks and runs great” with endless free things to do. Another user particularly likes the co-op aspect compared to similar gacha games.
Some players express concern about long-term prospects and progression. The abundant draws go to standard banners rather than seasonal ones. Account progression feels insufficient despite decent starter packs for fresh accounts. Other gachas reportedly play better in both exploration and combat.

Availability and Options

The game is also available to pre-register on mobile platforms now. PC players can access it via Google Play Games as another option. A grand launch follows on March 25 for those waiting. PS5 owners have another free RPG to add to their libraries.
Art style alone makes this worth picking up for anime fans. Hopefully issues can be addressed over time to improve reception. The open-world Britannia offers plenty to explore for curious players. Seven Deadly Sins fans now have a massive world to dive into for free.
