Stranger Things Makes Official Comeback in Dead by Daylight

Eleven and Vecna are returning for a new adventure after the show’s finale. The Stranger Things Dead by Daylight collaboration launches its second chapter on January 27, 2026. This update brings the iconic hero and villain into the asymmetrical horror game. Players can currently preview the content on Steam’s Public Test Build. This official comeback lets fans reconnect with the characters following the series’ emotional conclusion.

Eleven Returns as a Healer, Vecna as a Killer

The new chapter introduces Eleven as a playable Survivor with psychic-based healing abilities. Vecna joins the roster as a powerful new Killer, capable of warping the environment and trapping survivors. They are joined by Dustin Henderson, with Steve Harrington and Nancy Wheeler returning. The update also includes Legendary cosmetic outfits for fan-favorite characters like Eddie Munson and Robin Buckley.
This collaboration deepens the connection between the two horror-centric universes. Creative Director Dave Richard stated it allows the characters to continue their adventure within the game. Therefore, it provides a meaningful extension for fans still processing the finale’s events.

Perfect Timing After the Series Finale

The crossover arrives as the Stranger Things fandom debates the show’s recent and controversial ending. The finale featured Eleven’s apparent sacrifice, leaving a void for many viewers. This game update offers a chance to reunite with and play as the beloved character. It effectively softens the impact of her on-screen fate.
The addition of Vecna also carries greater weight following his role as the ultimate antagonist. Allowing players to wield his terrifying powers adds a thrilling new dimension. Ultimately, Dead by Daylight provides a vibrant, interactive space for the franchise’s legacy to thrive beyond Netflix.
