Street Mobilization Visit: KP CM Sohail Afridi Arrives in Karachi
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi arrived in Karachi on Friday for a street mobilization visit. The three-day trip aims to energize PTI supporters and expand the party’s protest movement. As a result, large crowds gathered to welcome him.
Sindh Labor Minister Saeed Ghani received Afridi at the airport. He presented him with a Sindhi cap and Ajrak. Both leaders exchanged greetings, reflecting political goodwill.
Arrival, Convoy, and Public Response
PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja also reached Karachi. Videos shared online showed enthusiastic supporters filling the airport. Therefore, security and traffic teams stayed alert.
Afridi’s convoy moved through Shahra e Faisal amid slogans supporting Imran Khan. He later shared a video from the main artery. Karachi traffic police confirmed the road cleared by early evening.
The convoy stopped briefly at Mazar-i-Quaid. It later reached the Karachi Press Club. Afridi had earlier faced flight delays while departing Islamabad.
Before arrival, Afridi said he carried Imran Khan’s message to Sindh. He urged citizens to support the street mobilization visit peacefully. In addition, he announced multiple activities during his stay.
Rallies, Meetings, and Official Stance
Afridi announced a public gathering at Mazar-i-Quaid on Sunday at 4:30pm. He called it a historic rally. PTI leaders encouraged wide participation.
Sindh officials said rallies would receive permission if held lawfully. However, authorities earlier denied a Qayyumabad gathering due to traffic concerns. Talks with PTI leaders remain ongoing.
Sindh Local Government Minister Nasir Hussain Shah confirmed approval for the Mazar-i-Quaid rally. Therefore, preparations are underway.
During the visit, Afridi will meet party leaders, lawyers, and business representatives. He will also meet Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. PTI says the visit strengthens its campaign for political freedom.
