Super Six Clinch: Pakistan U19 Beat Zimbabwe by 8 Wickets

Pakistan sealed a Super Six clinch after beating Zimbabwe by eight wickets in Harare. The win came in the final group match of the U19 World Cup. As a result, the team moved ahead with growing confidence.

Pakistan Secure Super Six Spot with Confidence

Earlier, the young squad lost to England in the opener. However, the players responded with energy and focus. They defeated Scotland first and then outplayed Zimbabwe with ease.
With this result, Pakistan finished second in the group. England stayed on top of the table. Therefore, both teams progressed under the tournament format.
The competition allows three teams from each group to advance. These teams then form two Super Six groups. Each side will play two matches in the next round. Despite the defeat, Zimbabwe also moved forward.

Bowlers Set the Tone Early

Captain Farhan Yousaf chose to field after winning the toss. The decision worked well from the start. Pakistan’s bowlers kept tight lines and built pressure.
Ali Raza led the attack with three wickets. In addition, he delivered four maiden overs. His control changed the game early.
Mohammad Sayyam, Abdul Subhan, and Momin Qamar supported him well. Each claimed two wickets and stayed disciplined.
Zimbabwe struggled to build partnerships. Nathaniel Hlabangana scored 59 runs but lacked support. For example, eight batters failed to reach double figures. The team folded for 128 in 35.5 overs.
During the chase, Pakistan stayed calm. The batters paced the innings smartly. They reached the target in the 27th over with only two wickets down.
Sameer Minhas starred with an unbeaten 74 off 75 balls. He struck six fours and four sixes. As a result, he earned the player of the match award.
