T20 2026 Semi Finalists: England and South Africa Book World Cup Spots

The race for the T20 2026 semi finalists has begun to heat up. England and South Africa have already secured their places in the knockout stage. Therefore, the World Cup drama is building fast.
The semi-finals will take place on March 4 and 5. Meanwhile, fans across the globe are watching every result closely.

England and South Africa Lead the Charge

England became the first team from Group 2 to qualify. They defeated Sri Lanka by 51 runs in Kandy. In addition, they beat Pakistan at the same venue to confirm their spot. This marks their fifth straight semi-final appearance. It is also their sixth top-four finish in ten editions.
South Africa topped Group 1 with strong wins over India and West Indies. As a result, they secured qualification ahead of the final group matches. Their consistent form has impressed supporters everywhere. Each Super 8 team plays three matches in its group. The top two sides from each group move forward. However, if teams tie on points and wins, Net Run Rate decides the ranking.

Knockout Picture Takes Shape

Sri Lanka became the first team eliminated from the Super 8. New Zealand handed them a 61-run defeat in Colombo. Zimbabwe also exited after a heavy loss to India in Chennai. New Zealand and Pakistan still fight for the second Group 2 spot. Similarly, India and West Indies will battle for the remaining Group 1 berth at Eden Gardens. The Group 2 winners will face the Group 1 runners-up. Conversely, Group 1 winners meet the Group 2 runners-up. Venue plans depend on Pakistan’s progress. The final will take place on March 8.
