Battlestate Games has confirmed that Escape From Tarkov will include four distinct story endings when its main campaign launches. Studio head Nikita Buyanov shared these details during a Q&A session at Tokyo Game Show 2025, further building anticipation for the game’s long-awaited 1.0 release.
According to Buyanov, the endings will be tied directly to player progression and completion. Importantly, not all players will see the best outcome. He revealed that only around 2% of the player base will likely achieve the most difficult “escape” ending. “It will be like an achievement of your life to finally escape from Tarkov,” Buyanov explained.
Currently, Escape From Tarkov offers quest content, but these are not yet connected to a cohesive narrative. The full campaign will introduce a more structured experience, though it remains unclear if this will be available at the 1.0 launch on November 15 or later. Either way, fans eager for narrative depth can expect new layers of storytelling to complement the hardcore extraction gameplay.
Another major milestone is the game’s planned Steam release, which could bring a surge of new players. However, the studio continues to struggle with ongoing issues like cheating. Many in the community hope these problems will be addressed before the full release, as the influx of fresh players could worsen the situation.
Despite these challenges, the announcement of multiple endings highlights Battlestate’s ambition to evolve Escape From Tarkov into more than just a looter shooter. With branching paths and varying outcomes, players will have new incentives to approach missions strategically and replay the game to see every conclusion.
For longtime fans, this marks a significant step in Escape From Tarkov’s transformation from early access survival game to a fully fleshed-out narrative experience.
