TTAP Rally Drive: Opposition Plans Three-Day Campaign Across Sindh

Opposition alliance Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan has announced a province-wide TTAP rally campaign. The three-day mobilisation drive will start in early December from Kamo Shaheed in Ghotki and end in Karachi. Leaders said the movement aims to resist the 27th Constitutional Amendment.
A key TTAP meeting took place in Karachi under the chairmanship of Syed Zain Shah. Senior leaders from PTI, MWM, SUP, PkMAP and other groups attended the session. They reviewed the political situation and approved several decisions. Leaders said people across the country feel frustrated because of inflation, unemployment and rising economic pressure.

Opposition Criticises Section 144 Use

TTAP leaders accused the PPP government of using Section 144 to block political gatherings. They said the ban appeared soon after TTAP announced a rally in Hyderabad. According to them, the move shows the ruling party fears public reaction. They claimed the PPP has lost its popular support in Sindh.
TTAP members also criticised the 27th Amendment. They said it weakens constitutional supremacy and undermines the rule of law. Leaders vowed to continue their country-wide movement. They said attempts to suppress public opinion would not work. In addition, they praised the people of Sindh for observing Black Day on November 21. They also appreciated the lawyers’ protests against the amendment.

Leaders Promise Large Public Gatherings

TTAP vice chairman Syed Zain Shah told the media that the convoy will travel through several Sindh cities before reaching Karachi. He said the campaign has entered a decisive phase. PTI leader Haleem Adil Sheikh added that the amendment “damages judicial independence.” He said only a people’s movement can undo a system created through a “stolen mandate.”
He also condemned “anti-people amendments” and called Imran Khan’s imprisonment unjust. TTAP leaders said they expect large gatherings during the December drive.
The TTAP rally campaign is set to become one of Sindh’s major political events this year.
