Ukraine Election Readiness Confirmed by Zelensky Amid Global Debate

President Volodymyr Zelensky says Ukraine is fully prepared for elections. He made the statement after US President Donald Trump claimed Kyiv was “using war” to delay the process. The Ukraine election readiness message aims to reassure both Ukrainians and international partners.
Zelensky Responds to Global Election Concerns
Zelensky’s current term was due to end in May 2024. However, Ukraine suspended elections after declaring martial law when Russia invaded. As a result, many people around the world continue to ask when voting can safely return.
The president addressed the issue while speaking with reporters. He commented on Trump’s remarks during a wide-ranging Politico interview. In addition, he stressed the need for careful planning before announcing a final date.

Possible Timeline for a New Vote

Zelensky said he will request proposals that outline legal changes needed to hold elections during wartime. These proposals could help create a clear path toward a national vote. Therefore, lawmakers may soon consider new rules to support the process.
He explained that elections could take place within 60 to 90 days if security improves. Ukraine would require assistance from the US and other allies to protect polling stations. For example, partners could help provide technology, monitoring teams, or logistical support.
The president emphasised the importance of safety for every voter. In addition, he stated that fair participation must remain a priority, even during conflict. His comments suggest that Ukraine wants to balance democracy with national security.
Many Ukrainians continue to show strong interest in restoring normal political life. However, ongoing attacks and instability create challenges for organising a nationwide vote. As a result, the government seeks solutions that keep people safe while allowing democratic progress.
Zelensky’s latest remarks open the door for broader discussions. The coming months may shape how Ukraine rebuilds trust, stability, and political freedom.
