US Intel: Iran Regime “Intact But Largely Degraded” as War Grinds On

The top US intelligence official delivered a stark assessment Wednesday. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said Iran’s regime is “intact” but “largely degraded.” She testified before Congress alongside other Trump administration officials.
The hearing lasted more than two hours. Officials discussed worldwide threats to the United States. This was the first public intelligence briefing since the war began in late February.

Resignation Raises Questions

The briefing came one day after a top counterterrorism leader resigned. That official said Iran had not posed an imminent threat to the US. Therefore, this Iran regime degraded US intel assessment and faces internal dissent.

Strait of Hormuz Concerns

Gabbard also addressed the vital Strait of Hormuz shipping channel. She said the US had anticipated trouble there. The strait remains a critical flashpoint in the ongoing conflict.
The intelligence community continues monitoring the situation. The war enters its third week with no end in sight.
