Widow Support Card Scheme Approved: Rs 1 Lakh Relief for Women

The government has approved the Widow Support Card to help widowed women with urgent financial support. This scheme aims to reduce hardship for families. As a result, eligible women will receive direct assistance without long delays.
Officials say the program will start before the end of this month. The scheme will provide up to Rs 1 lakh as a one-time payment. Therefore, women can manage basic needs with more stability and confidence.

Support Through Zakat Funding

The government will use zakat funds to finance this initiative. This method ensures the support reaches deserving women quickly. In addition, authorities want the process to remain fair and transparent.
Eligible widowed women will receive the amount directly through the support card. For example, they may spend it on food, rent, medical bills, or school expenses. However, officials will verify applications to ensure only qualified women benefit.
This step highlights the government’s focus on social welfare. As a result, many women may feel more secure during difficult times. The scheme also promotes dignity and
inclusion for widowed citizens across the country.

Launch and Registration Updates

Sources report that departments have nearly completed the final preparations. Registration details will appear soon through official channels. Meanwhile, families continue to wait for clear instructions on eligibility and documents.
The Widow Support Card will work as a simple financial tool. Therefore, women will not face complex procedures or repeated visits. In addition, digital access may improve delivery and reduce delays.
The government hopes this scheme will strengthen long-term support systems. Above all, it aims to provide respect, relief, and opportunity for widowed women nationwide.
