2XKO Early Access Release Date Set for October 2025

Riot Games has finally confirmed the 2XKO early access release date for October 7, 2025. The highly anticipated 2v2 tag-team fighting game, originally known as Project L, has been in development since 2019 and will soon be available for fans worldwide.
2XKO is a unique spin on the traditional fighting game formula, drawing from the rich universe of League of Legends. Players will control iconic champions in pairs, battling in dynamic tag-team matches where teamwork and strategy are just as important as individual skill. The game’s closed beta earlier this year already gave a glimpse into the fast-paced action, but its early access launch marks the beginning of Season 0 and promises a much wider audience.
At launch, 2XKO will include 10 champions. Riot has already confirmed nine—Vi, Jinx, Braum, Illaoi, Darius, Ahri, Ekko, Yasuo, and Blitzcrank. The 10th champion has yet to be revealed, though many fans believe Teemo will join as a surprise pick. Riot has also committed to expanding the roster over time through updates, ensuring the game evolves with new content and balance changes.
Initially, early access will be limited to PC players, with console support for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S to arrive later. Although the smaller launch roster has raised questions, Riot’s live-service model suggests long-term support and plenty of new additions.
What truly sets 2XKO apart is its focus on teamwork. Unlike standard 1v1 fighters, players must coordinate effectively in 2v2 matchups, chaining combos and supporting partners. With Riot’s history in esports, many expect 2XKO to develop a competitive scene soon after launch.
October 7, 2025, could mark the start of a new era for fighting games, blending Riot’s expertise with an innovative twist on the genre.
