2XKO Enters Closed Beta This December
Riot Games’ upcoming fighter 2XKO steps into the ring this December with its long-awaited closed beta. Built on the League of Legends universe, this free-to-play tag fighter combines accessibility, flashy animation, and layered mechanics. Players will team up two champions and swap mid-combo to unleash devastating tag attacks. The result feels fast, fluid, and cinematic, a game that rewards aggression, reflexes, and teamwork in equal measure.
Tag, Switch, Conquer
Each character delivers a unique playstyle, from Ahri’s mix-ups and mobility to Darius’ heavy-hitting power moves. The beta will feature ten playable champions, including Jinx, Ekko, Braum, Vi, Yasuo, and Warwick. The control scheme feels beginner-friendly, but mastering each combo requires perfect timing and understanding of partner synergy. Riot also confirmed rollback netcode and cross-platform matchmaking, ensuring smooth performance across all regions. “We built this to feel responsive and bold,” says lead producer Alex Noyes. “Every hit should feel earned.”
New Stage, New Era
The December beta introduces Piltover Plaza, a destructible stage where the crowd reacts dynamically to every strike. Players can test their skills in Ranked, Casual, and Duo Trials modes, earning cosmetics and progression rewards through Season 0’s Battle Pass. Riot has already mapped out five major seasons for 2026, each bringing new fighters and arenas. With vibrant visuals, deep mechanics, and that signature League flair, 2XKO could reshape competitive fighting games next year. The closed beta will run for two weeks, with early access invitations rolling out in waves through Riot’s launcher.
