Teamfight Tactics’ “Lore and Legends” Set Dives Deep into Runeterra
Teamfight Tactics Lore and Legends launches as the game’s 16th set on December 3rd. This TFT Lore and Legends set celebrates Runeterra’s extensive lore universe. Riot Games revealed the set during Worlds 2025 in Chengdu. Lead Set Designer Julien Camaraza calls it “a celebration of Runeterra and some key moments in its history.” The set features content from over 15 years of League of Legends lore.
Cinematic Reveal and Set Features
TFT Lore and Legends debuted with a cinematic titled ‘Still Legendary.’ The video features music from Alex ‘Mako’ Seaver of Arcane fame. Additionally, it includes past Worlds anthems for nostalgic appeal. Camaraza confirms this set “takes things to a whole new level” compared to previous Runeterran sets. He promises something “that will excite every kind of player.”
The full global reveal occurs during K.O Coliseum’s Tactician’s Crown from November 14th-16th. Patch 16.1 delivers the set to PC and mobile simultaneously. Game Director Peter Whalen describes it as “the biggest set we’ve ever done.” Consequently, players can expect unprecedented content volume and mechanical depth.
Paris Open Tournament Integration
TFT Lore and Legends will feature in the Paris Open 2025 tournament. This event runs from December 12th-14th with a $300,000 prize pool. Moreover, over 768 global players will compete in an open bracket format. The winner receives TFT’s prestigious Tacticians Belt. The tournament serves as the “ultimate celebration of Teamfight Tactics.”
The timing aligns perfectly with the new set’s early December release. Therefore, players can immediately apply new strategies in competitive play. The Paris Open represents the crowning event of TFT’s esports scene. It demonstrates Riot’s continued commitment to competitive autobattler gameplay.
