Balochistan Universities Show Historic Progress Under Governor Mandokhail

Balochistan has reached a major milestone in its higher education sector. Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail announced that almost all public universities improved their rankings this year. This Balochistan university progress marks one of the strongest performances in the province’s history.
The governor said these results came after a full year of close supervision and targeted reforms. As a result, several institutions recorded remarkable growth. Beautums University achieved an impressive 80% score. Women University rose from 37% to 67%. In addition, the University of Balochistan improved from 44% to 76%. These jumps reflect stronger governance and renewed academic focus.
Governor Mandokhail praised Vice Chancellor Dr. Zahoor Bazai and his team for leading this turnaround. He said the University of Balochistan has broken free from long-standing crises for the first time in 25 years. Their work introduced major reforms and created a healthier environment for students and staff.
The reforms include a shift to solar energy, which reduces long-term expenses. The administration also closed seven non-essential departments to streamline resources. Furthermore, the university hosted two international seminars to rebuild academic connections. Salaries for faculty now arrive on time, which improves morale and stability.
The leadership also removed all illegal and contract-based positions. They centralized self-finance accounts to strengthen transparency. These steps cut operational costs by PKR 150 million, while fuel expenses dropped sharply as well.

Public Awareness Campaign Launched

Governor Mandokhail said that the next step is a province-wide public awareness campaign. The goal is to highlight recent reforms and encourage community engagement. He believes this progress will build trust and inspire students across Balochistan.
He added that stronger universities can become a source of hope for young people. With continued reforms, the province can aim for long-lasting academic excellence.
