BIEK Launches Digital Service for Academic Document Issuance

Karachi: The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has launched a new digital service aimed at streamlining the issuance of academic documents for students. The initiative is part of the board’s ongoing efforts to modernize its operations and provide faster, more transparent services to candidates.

According to BIEK officials, the digital platform will allow students to apply online for a range of essential documents, including mark sheets, certificates, transcripts, and verification letters. The move is expected to significantly reduce processing times, minimize paperwork, and cut down on long queues at the board’s offices.

Students and parents have long complained about delays and inefficiencies in obtaining academic records, with many having to wait weeks or even months for documents. By digitizing the process, BIEK aims to ensure timely delivery and eliminate opportunities for malpractice, making the system more efficient and student-friendly.

The board stated that the service is accessible through its official website, where applicants can track the status of their requests in real time. Payments for services can also be made online, further simplifying the procedure.

Education experts welcomed the development, noting that digitization is a critical step toward improving governance and aligning educational institutions with modern technological standards. They believe the initiative will not only benefit current students but also graduates who often require verified documents for higher studies or employment opportunities abroad.

Officials added that BIEK plans to expand the service in phases, incorporating more features to enhance user convenience.
