Pakistan Education Expo Boosts Regional Academic Collaboration in Dhaka
Dhaka hosted the largest Pakistan education expo to date. The Pakistan High Commission organized the event with support from Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission. As a result, students in Bangladesh had direct access to representatives from more than 15 leading Pakistani universities.
The expo showcased degree programs, research opportunities, and career pathways. In addition, visiting students explored admission requirements and scholarship options. Many described the event as a valuable chance to learn about regional opportunities for higher education.
A Key Part of the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor
The Pakistan education expo is a core element of the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor. Pakistan launched this initiative during the August visit of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar. A major highlight of the corridor is the offer of 500 scholarships for Bangladeshi students.
Md Mahbub-ul-Alam, Secretary of Bangladesh’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, attended as the chief guest. Senior officials from the University Grants Commission also joined the event. Local vice-chancellors and a large number of students were present as well.
In his remarks, the Secretary praised the initiative as a milestone in regional cooperation. He said it would strengthen youth empowerment through better access to skills and education. His message highlighted the long-term benefits of stronger academic ties.
Strengthening Academic Mobility and Future Careers
Pakistan’s High Commissioner Imran Haider shared that the expo fulfills commitments made by the Deputy Prime Minister. He explained that the initiative will support academic mobility and joint research. Therefore, the program will help students prepare for careers in medicine, engineering, IT, and artificial intelligence.
Participants expressed hope that the expo will deepen collaboration between the two countries. They believe such initiatives can expand opportunities and build a more connected academic future for students across the region.
