Apex Legends Launches Merry Mayhem Event
Apex Legends has launched its Merry Mayhem holiday event, running from December 16th until January 6th. The event gives the Olympus map a winter makeover and introduces new Guarded Airdrops protected by Spectre enemies. Players can earn new holiday-themed Wild Cards and collectible cosmetics during the limited-time festivities.
Festive Map and New Gameplay Mechanics
The Olympus map is transformed into a frozen battlefield for the event. The new Guarded Airdrop mechanic adds a PvE challenge, requiring squads to defeat Spectre guards to claim Mythic-tier weapons like the Kraber. This change creates new hotspots and strategies on the familiar map.
Three new Wild Cards alter gameplay: Flash Freeze silences enemies on shield break, Do-Over grants a self-revive on a teammate’s knockdown, and Super Cells fully charges shields with one cell. These powerful modifiers accelerate combat and encourage aggressive play throughout the event duration.
Holiday Skins and Event Availability
A new set of legendary winter skins is available, including Gibraltar’s Brudda Bear and Octane’s Dasher. The event is free for all players on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The Merry Mayhem update continues Apex Legends’ tradition of seasonal events that refresh the game with themed content and rewards.
