Lords of the Fallen II Gameplay Revealed in Brutal New Trailer
CI Games has revealed the first gameplay trailer for Lords of the Fallen II at The Game Awards, announcing a 2026 release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The trailer, set to a Ghost cover of “It’s a Sin,” showcases the sequel’s faster, more brutal soulslike combat, a new dismemberment system, and fearsome bosses within its signature dual-realm world. The game is built on Unreal Engine 5 and promises expanded co-op and PvP.
Enhanced Combat and New Features
The sequel is described as bolder and bloodier, introducing a dismemberment feature and new execution moves to its combat system. Players, as the Lampbearer, will face a greater variety of enemies and monumental boss battles, including previews of the Heartroot Warden, Koydreth, and the dragon Lingao the Souring Storm. The game retains the interconnected dual realms of its predecessor while significantly ramping up the action and challenge.
Game Director James Lowe emphasized the team’s player-first philosophy, highlighting the community’s role in shaping the sequel’s direction. The trailer confirms that the core appeal of navigating between the realms of Axiom and Umbral will return, but with more fluidity and visual fidelity powered by the new engine.
Final Update for the Original Game
Alongside the sequel reveal, CI Games released Version 2.5, the final major update for Lords of the Fallen (2023). This free update introduces a comprehensive rework of enemy and boss behavior across both the standard Legacy Mode and a new, harder Veteran Mode. It represents over 70 updates informed by community feedback from more than 6 million players.
CEO Marek Tyminski stated this update fulfills the community’s requests and represents the studio’s final vision for the first game. A 50% discount is also available for new players, serving as an entry point for those awaiting the sequel’s release next year.
