Photoshop 27.4 Update Adds Firefly AI Boost

Photoshop 27.4 Update Adds Firefly AI Boost

The Photoshop 27.4 update is now available from Adobe. The release focuses mainly on stability and small fixes. However, it also improves AI-powered tools. Creative professionals in film, games, and design will notice the change. The latest version expands support for the new Firefly Fill and Expand model. This model now works with Generate Similar. As a result, users can create more accurate variations of AI-generated content.

Firefly Model Expands Across Tools

Previously, the Firefly Fill and Expand model appeared in Generative Fill and Generative Expand. Adobe introduced it in version 27.3. Now, the same model powers Generate Similar. Therefore, artists can produce better variations with consistent results. Compared to older Firefly Image 3, the new model offers improved detail and smoother blending. In addition, it handles expanded areas more naturally. That makes it helpful for concept art and texture work. Other than this change, the update includes three minor bug fixes. So, the release keeps things simple and focused.

Price and System Requirements

Adobe Photoshop 27.4 supports Windows 10 or later. It also runs on macOS 14.0 or newer. Adobe offers the software through subscription plans only. The Photography plan costs $29.99 per month or $239.88 per year. Meanwhile, the single-app plan costs $34.49 monthly or $263.88 annually. Overall, this update strengthens AI tools without changing workflows. Artists can upgrade now through the Creative Cloud app.
