Safe School Transport for Girls in Sindh Launched
Girls in Sindh’s rural areas will soon get safe transport to school. The government has launched a girls school transport service for secondary and higher secondary students. This initiative will make commuting easier and reduce dropout rates.
Keeping Girls Safe on Their Way to School
Many girls in remote areas face long and unsafe journeys to school. Parents often hesitate to send them due to safety concerns. Therefore, providing secure transport helps families feel confident.
In addition, this service will improve school attendance and punctuality. Girls can focus more on learning instead of worrying about travel. As a result, their academic performance is likely to improve.
Supporting Education and Teachers
The initiative aligns with Article 25-A of Pakistan’s Constitution and Sindh’s Right of Children to Free Education Act, 2013. It ensures every girl can access her right to education without obstacles.
Moreover, female teachers working in remote schools will also benefit. Reliable transport will allow them to reach schools regularly. In turn, this improves teaching quality and learning outcomes for students.
For example, teachers can start classes on time, and girls will receive full-day instruction. The program is expected to encourage families to continue sending their daughters to school.
