Pakistan University Rankings 2026: NUST, LUMS and AKU Lead Global Subjects
Pakistan university rankings 2026 highlight steady academic progress across the country. A total of 35 institutions secured places in the latest QS subject rankings. Most of these universities belong to the public sector, which shows their strong research output and global visibility.
Public Universities Drive Global Presence
The National University of Sciences and Technology ranked among the top performers in engineering and technology. It placed in the 201–250 band worldwide. In addition, its computer science ranking fell within the 201–300 range.
Similarly, Quaid-i-Azam University performed strongly in natural sciences. It secured a position in the 201–250 bracket. The university also appeared in physics and environmental science rankings.
The University of the Punjab achieved placements in business, agriculture, and social sciences. Meanwhile, University of Engineering and Technology Lahore maintained a stable position in several engineering disciplines.
Private Universities Show Competitive Edge
Among private institutions, the Lahore University of Management Sciences led in business and management studies. It ranked between 101 and 150 globally. Therefore, it remained one of the country’s highest-ranked institutions in any subject.
The Institute of Business Administration Karachi followed in business and economics rankings. At the same time, Aga Khan University retained its strong global reputation in medicine and life sciences.
Overall, Pakistani institutions recorded around 180 subject entries. Most universities ranked between 201 and 400 worldwide. As a result, the country shows moderate but consistent global competitiveness.
