PEC Graduate Engineer Program: 1,300 Engineers Join GET Initiative

PEC engineer trainee program has welcomed over 1,300 fresh graduates into its second batch across Pakistan. The initiative, led by the Pakistan Engineering Council, aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry experience. As a result, young engineers now gain practical exposure early in their careers.

Expanding Opportunities for Engineers

The council selected 1,700 candidates through a transparent digital balloting process. However, authorities have already placed more than 1,300 graduates in this phase. The remaining candidates will join in upcoming rounds after completing formalities.
Graduates have started orientation sessions in over 60 public and private organizations. In addition, they will work across multiple departments to gain diverse experience. This approach ensures exposure to real-world engineering challenges.
Notably, the program reserved 300 seats for candidates from Balochistan. Authorities have now filled all these positions, ensuring strong regional representation. Therefore, the initiative promotes inclusion alongside skill development.

Training, Skills, and Future Growth

The PEC engineer trainee program offers six months of structured training. Participants complete five months of fieldwork and one month of skill development. Moreover, each trainee receives a monthly stipend of PKR 50,000.
Officials also provide a QR-verified certificate after successful completion. This certification helps graduates strengthen their professional profiles. In addition, the program focuses on both technical and soft skills.
According to PEC Chairman Waseem Nazir, the initiative supports long-term growth. He emphasized that real workplace exposure builds confidence and competence. As a result, young engineers become better prepared for industry demands.
Overall, this program plays a key role in strengthening Pakistan’s engineering workforce. It also supports national development by preparing skilled professionals for future challenges.
